Circus Tent Block Reveal!!!

🐘 My Block for the Elephant Parade Blog Hop is here 🐘

I’m thrilled to share my contribution to the Elephant Parade Blog Hop, a bright and playful Circus Tent block! This design is foundation paper pieced, making it crisp and precise while letting those bold stripes shine at this smaller size.

The circus tent feels like the perfect companion for the parade. I loved choosing the vibrant reds, yellows, and blues to capture that joyful carnival energy for this week's blanket.

Stay tuned for more parade blocks and inspiration from other talented makers — and don’t forget to grab your pattern to make your own circus tent!

Southeast Indiana Shop Hop Travels

Friday, I played hooky to visit a few of my localish quilt stores for the Indiana State Quilt Shop Hop and decided to take you with me! Why? Because I'm taking photos outside each store & stashing my finds inside my latest tote made with the grunge electric vinyl from J&R Edwards Textiles, one of my favorite online shops.

Let's talk about it. I used the Sew Crazy Tote available free in my group, Sew That Liz Pattern Show-off Group, and changed up the measurements to use the full 12" roll. I used stick on foam for stabilizer and waterproof canvas for all the lining and accents. I also used 1.5" black woven webbing which is quite lovely to make it an even faster sew!

Anyone else amazed by how different fabrics appear in full sun vs fresh off the machine?! Check out that texture though!

I used this as an overnight bag when visiting my mom recently. She's a heavy smoker, and I am not. So when I came home, I had to wash it... twice! The vinyl held up beautifully and is still just as shiny as it started, fresh from the package!

We also went by Tree City Stitches in Greensburg, IN but my photographer's energy was waning so much at that point that I didn't get a photo! :(
